The businesses, thinking, and legacy of Purity K. Mbaabu — Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, founder, and builder of an interlocking property and lifestyle ecosystem rooted in Meru's Imenti soil.
Purity K. MbaabuManaging Partner · Founder · Advocate of the High Court of Kenya
Part I — The Founder
The Woman Behind the Ecosystem
Purity K. Mbaabu was raised in the Imenti belt of Meru County — the same soil that now anchors the origin story of her tea and botanical brand. She trained in law at the University of Nairobi, was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, and built a boutique practice around the transactions that quietly hold a family's or an investor's future together: land, succession, and contract.
What makes her practice distinctive isn't the law alone. Eight-plus years at the bar and five-plus years as an active player in Kenya's property market — buying, hosting, furnishing, and marketing real short-term rental properties herself — have given her a rare, complete view of the property lifecycle: the legal risk, the commercial upside, and the operational reality of running a listing, in one head.
That combination — conveyancing specialist, off-plan advisor, and practising Airbnb host — is the thread that runs through everything below. Every business she has built since sits somewhere on the same lifecycle: a client or property enters the ecosystem once, and there is a legitimate, trust-based reason for them to stay in it for years.

Part III — The Chapters
Chapter One
Chapter 01 — Legal Practice
Purity K. Mbaabu & Associate Advocates
The trust foundation the rest of the ecosystem is built on.
What it does
A boutique law firm specialising in property and conveyancing, succession, commercial matters, family law, and immigration-adjacent work — built in Nairobi's HH Towers on Kenyatta Avenue.
Built so far
Succession advisories under Cap. 160, including a disputed confirmed grant across five properties
Affidavits of Customary Marriage; Deeds of Grant of Easement
Estate matter work for named clients
UK Appendix Children immigration documentation
The "Legal Minute" flyer series & PKM Legal Bulletin newsletter
Leverage the dual identity — lawyer and STR consultant — as the market differentiator competitors can't copy
Grow succession & estate planning as a distinct, higher-margin practice line
Feeds into
Every Luxe Living property purchase, lease, and dispute; every Safi Botanicals corporate gift for a closed conveyance; every estate-planning client's referral into wealth advisory.
Chapter 02 — Real Estate & Short-Let
Luxe Living & Realty
Where the legal mind meets the commercial operator.
What it does
A real estate and short-term rental consultancy and co-hosting business, actively managing listings across 18+ Kenyan locations — including the Thindigua apartment and the Karen Boma villa.
Built so far
12-week Airbnb Success Masterclass with webinar & email-automation infrastructure
A full digital product catalogue on Selar — budget calculators, business plan templates, legal toolkits, turnover manuals, risk checklists
Dynamic listing & rate-uplift service built around a 12-month Nairobi events calendar
Booking.com listing packages with reverse-pricing to hit net targets after commission and tax
Earlier: Ocean Breeze Estates (Pungu/Likoni) coastal marketing strategy; interior quotations for two Karen villas; Fiverr legal-advisory gigs
Scaling roadmap
Expand the Selar catalogue into a recurring digital-products revenue line, decoupled from active hosting hours
Turn the Masterclass into a repeatable cohort product with its own funnel
Use the events-calendar pricing engine as a licensable service for other hosts/agencies
Feeds into
Legal work (leases, purchase conveyancing), Safi Botanicals welcome hampers for guests and corporate clients, and Strategic Digital Growth's ad/SEO work for host-facing marketing.
Chapter 03 — Wellness & Gifting
Safi Botanicals
The origin story, made sellable.
What it does
A premium Kenyan tea and botanical gifting brand, farm-direct sourced from Meru County's Imenti belt — the same land Purity grew up on, which anchors the brand's narrative.
Built so far
Brand narrative built directly on the founder's Imenti origin story
Blog content targeting Airbnb hosts and real estate agents as a gifting audience
A tiered corporate pricing proposal for hamper offerings
Scaling roadmap
Formalise the host/agent gifting niche into a standing B2B corporate account channel
Package hampers as the default "closing gift" across the law firm and Luxe Living
Feeds into
Every Luxe Living guest welcome, every closed legal transaction, and the founder's own Imenti memoir — the same story sells the tea and will sell the book.
Chapter 04 — Services Beyond Real Estate
Strategic Digital Growth
Monetising the skill set the other three businesses required her to build.
What it does
A standalone paid-advertising, SEO, and keyword-targeting consulting service, built on marketing skills first developed for the law firm and Luxe Living — offered on fixed project fees, to businesses of any kind, not only real estate (Purity has prior experience running this for clients like boutique clothing and shoe retailers).
Build sequence chosen
1. Client-facing service brochure
2. Proposal template
3. Landing page copy on the Luxe Living site
Scaling roadmap
Cross-sell into every existing law and Luxe Living client relationship before pursuing cold market
Package as fixed-fee tiers to keep margin predictable while client base is proven out
Feeds into
Every other venture's own marketing — this is the engine, not just a client-facing product.
Chapter 05 — Storage & Traveller Logistics
Luggage Storage & Transport
Solving the one problem every one of Purity's own guests and clients already has.
What it does
A luggage storage and transport service built around three real, recurring gaps: guests checking out of an Airbnb or hotel before their flight or onward journey, travellers heading out on safari who don't want to carry city luggage into the bush, and diaspora visitors making a short up-country trip who need somewhere secure to leave the bulk of their bags.
Why it fits here
Every drop-off point already exists inside Luxe Living's own network of managed Airbnb and hotel partner properties — no new real estate needed to start
The exact traveller who needs this is already Purity's own client: the diaspora buyer flying in for a property viewing, the safari-bound Airbnb guest, the late-checkout host booking
Solves a trust problem — and trust, backed by an advocate's name, is the same asset every other venture is built on
Service model
Late check-out storage — secure hold of bags at the property itself after check-out time, released on guest schedule
Safari storage — city luggage held while the traveller is out-of-town, ready on return
Up-country / diaspora storage — multi-day hold for guests making a short trip beyond Nairobi
Transport add-on — bags delivered to the airport or next destination on a scheduled or on-demand basis
Build approach
Don't build a private vehicle fleet first — partner with an existing courier or ride-hailing service for the physical driving; Purity's own value is the booking, tracking, insurance, and trust layer around it
Start with the properties already inside the Luxe Living network as drop-off points before recruiting outside hosts and hotels
Revenue model: a per-bag storage fee plus a per-trip transport fee, with a bundled rate for guests who book both at check-in
Feeds into
Every Luxe Living booking (offered at check-in as a natural add-on), Safi Botanicals (a small welcome or farewell gift can travel with the stored bag), and the firm's diaspora clients, who are exactly the travellers most likely to need up-country storage while handling a property matter in Nairobi.
Chapter 06 — Relocation & Concierge
Luxe Concierge & Relocation
Already running — the settling-in layer that sits between a legal transaction and a life actually lived in Kenya.
What it does
A relocation and concierge service, already active, supporting clients — particularly diaspora and corporate movers — through the practical side of relocating to or settling in Kenya, alongside the legal and property work Purity's other ventures already handle.
Why it fits here
Draws directly on the firm's existing immigration-adjacent legal work — this venture turns that legal expertise into an ongoing client-facing service rather than a one-off engagement
Reaches the same diaspora and corporate clients already moving through Luxe Living's property and short-let network
Another trust-based, advocate-backed service — the same asset every other venture in the ecosystem is built on
Scaling roadmap
Package the service into clear, fixed-fee tiers rather than ad-hoc engagements, mirroring the Strategic Digital Growth pricing approach
Formalise the handoff points with Luxe Living and the law practice so every relocating client is offered concierge support by default
Build a written record of what's already been delivered — client-by-client — to support the next fundraising or partnership conversation
Feeds into
Every diaspora legal client (immigration-adjacent matters), every Luxe Living booking involving a longer-term or relocating guest, and Luggage Storage & Transport for the up-country and diaspora storage use case.
Part IV — How It Compounds
The Ecosystem, Not Six Businesses
The value isn't that Purity runs six ventures. It's that one relationship can legitimately move through all of them — each handoff backed by real trust already earned.
Airbnb / STR Client→Legal Lease or Sale→Conveyancing→Relocation & Concierge→Property Management→Luggage Storage & Transport→Digital Marketing→Safi Gift / Referral
A single client can enter anywhere on this loop and legitimately need every other business on it — that repeat, cross-referred relationship is the actual product being built.

Part VI — The Investor Case
Why This Ecosystem Is Investable
The figures below describe the structure of the business, not audited financials — they're the numbers a serious investor would ask for first, and the honest current answer to each.
Most property or hosting consultants have one lens — commercial or legal. Purity holds both, plus the operator's view of actually running a short-let. That combination is not easily replicated by a competitor hiring one specialist.
The revenue mix
A blend of high-trust professional fees (legal), recurring management fees (STR), one-time and repeatable digital product sales (courses, templates, guides), and a physical gifting product (Safi Botanicals) — several income types, not one.
What capital would accelerate
Formalising the digital-products line into a self-serve funnel; scaling the events-calendar pricing service to other hosts; building out the STEP/wealth-advisory practice line; and professionalising Safi Botanicals' corporate gifting channel.
Part VII — Future Vision
What's Next, Named Honestly
These are concepts Purity has articulated for where the ecosystem could go — real ambition, but not yet built. Keeping them clearly labelled as vision, rather than blending them with the active chapters above, is what makes this document credible to an investor or to her own daughter reading it in twenty years.

Part VIII — Legacy
Built to Outlast Her
This document exists so the thinking behind six real, working businesses doesn't live only in one person's head — so a daughter, a future partner, or an investor can pick it up and understand not just what was built, but why it holds together.
The next honest version of this document should add: a governance and ownership structure for the group as it grows; a clear IP and trademark position for each brand name; and a written succession plan — the same discipline Purity already brings to every client's estate, applied to her own.
Until then, this stands as the definitive, current record: six ventures, one founder, one loop of trust that each business feeds and draws from.
